
The 6300 block of Oak Trail Drive residents are on high alert after a recent porch piracy incident. On October 22, an unidentified suspect was caught on camera stealing a package from the front porch of a home at around 1:02 PM. The footage showed the thief exiting a vehicle, walking up to the residence, taking the parcel, and then making a getaway in the same car. This act of felony theft has rattled the neighborhood and prompted a call to action from local law enforcement seeking assistance from the community.
According to a media release by the Columbus Division of Police, Columbus Police Property Crimes Detective B. Drake #2237 leads the investigation. The police desperately need information that may lead to the identification of the suspect or provide insight into the theft. Anyone with information that may lead to the identification of the suspect or provide insight into the robbery is encouraged to come forward.
