The 6300 block of Oak Trail Drive residents are on high alert after a recent porch piracy incident. On October 22, an unidentified suspect was caught on camera stealing a package from the front porch of a home at around 1:02 PM. The footage showed the thief exiting a vehicle, walking up to the residence, taking the parcel, and then making a getaway in the same car. This act of felony theft has rattled the neighborhood and prompted a call to action from local law enforcement seeking assistance from the community.
According to a media release by the Columbus Division of Police, Columbus Police Property Crimes Detective B. Drake #2237 leads the investigation. The police desperately need information that may lead to the identification of the suspect or provide insight into the theft.
