Following the fatal shooting in Columbus' 5000 Block of Princess Ln, authorities have taken the suspect into custody after a manhunt that ended with SWAT involvement. Ricardo Ramirez, the man implicated in the event, was apprehended by Columbus Police SWAT officers on Wednesday, shortly after 3 pm, as reported by the Columbus Division of Police. He now faces charges for the murder of Alejandro Lopez-Lechuga.
In the initial response, officers encountered the victim, who had sustained a gunshot injury, and rendered aid until Columbus Fire Medic #6 could continue life-saving measures. Despite the rapid transport and care at a local hospital, Lopez-Lechuga was pronounced dead at 12:55 am. The Columbus Police have emphasized that this tragic incident's investigation is still active.
