
The Columbus Police Department is actively seeking a suspect in connection to a homicide that occurred on Monday evening. The victim, identified as Ms. Taarah Griffin-Carmichael, succumbed to gunshot wounds at the Children's Hospital after being transported there by associates post-incident, according to a press release from the Columbus Division of Police.
At approximately 8:50 PM on Monday, patrol officers were dispatched to the hospital following reports of the shooting. Medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, Griffin-Carmichael was pronounced deceased at 9:18 PM. Investigators have determined the shooting took place in the 200 Block of Highview Landing. A Murder warrant has since been filed for Dionte M. Carey, who is currently at large.

Detectives on the case, led by Detective Phillips with assistance from Detective Wood, are striving to piece together the events that escalated to Griffin-Carmichael's death, as reported in the press release.
