The incident, which was first reported at 10:29 PM, led to police discovering an adult victim whose life was slipping away due to a gunshot wound. Despite the rapid response of Columbus Fire medics, the announcement of death came at 10:38 PM, a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the devastating impact of violence.
Detectives have made significant progress as they work to piece together the tragic puzzle. On Tuesday, 19-year-old GIAVON HAYES was arrested by Columbus Police officers, according to a media release by the Columbus Division of Police. Nearly two days later, yesterday, MI'SHAWN THOMAS, an 18-year-old suspect, was apprehended by Reynoldsburg Police officers. Both individuals are currently being held in the Franklin County Jail as the investigation aggressively continues to unearth more facts about the homicide thoroughly.
While the victim has been presumptively identified, details are withheld as officials await confirmation from the Franklin County Coroner's Office. The motive behind this brutal act remains obscured by the shadows of yet-to-be-uncovered truths, and the quest to fully identify all suspects involved is unyielding.
