Authorities are asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect linked to a retail theft that occurred earlier last month. The Columbus Division of Police released a statement detailing the event on October 4 at around 5:44 p.m. The store, located in the 1800 block of Hilliard Rome Rd., reportedly lost approximately $680 worth of clothing due to the suspect's actions.
The individual in question is described as a light-skinned black female adorned with tattoos on both her left and right forearms. According to the Columbus Division of Police report, she seemingly took the merchandise, bypassing all points of sale to avoid making payment intentionally. After acquiring the items, the suspect allegedly fled the scene in a red Toyota Rav 4.
Photographs of the suspect have been circulated in hopes that community members might recognize her and come forward with information. Detective Kerr of the Columbus Division of Police handles the investigation and has urged anyone with insights to contact her at (614)645-4035 or via email at [email protected]. The case highlights ongoing concerns around retail theft and its impact on local businesses.
