
In the pre-dawn hours of October 11, a peculiar break-in caught the attention of Capitol Hill residents and police alike. A man donning a green dinosaur costume was apprehended after he reportedly burglarized an apartment building, seizing packages from unsuspecting tenants. The creature-feature took a turn into the criminal when the suspect was spotted by a resident, who promptly alerted law enforcement to the dino-delict. Officers arriving on the scene were able to quickly identify the suspect;, according to the Seattle Police Department.
The Seattle Police Department detailed the incident on their blog, Seattle Police Department Blotter, noting that the break-in occurred shortly after 3 AM. According to the report, a concerned 911 caller provided a description that was not difficult for officers to miss; the perpetrator was clad in a green dinosaur outfit, boldly out of sync with the surrounding urban landscape. The man attempted to quickly exit the scene hauling a backpack filled with pilfered parcels, but was apprehended by police.
After his arrest, the 34-year-old suspect was charged with two counts of burglarym as per the Seattle Police Department. His attempt to commit the crime while wearing a dinosaur costume ended with him being taken to jail. In this case, a quick-thinking witness helped police catch the suspect right away.
