
The Culver City Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that took place in the early hours of last Saturday on Midway Avenue. According to a press release issued by Chief of Police Jason Sims, two men accosted a victim, who had been standing in a parking lot with a friend around 3:00 am. One of the assailants brandished a semi-automatic handgun at the victim's chest while the other assailant struck the victim from behind. The robbers, whose intent was to purloin the victim's valuable Rolex watch, succeeded in their heist before fleeing the scene in a black sedan. The Rolex, described to have a silver band and black face with diamonds, is valued at approximately $12,000.
The Culver City Police Department detailed both suspects as males in their early twenties, with a thin build, and standing between 5’7" and 5’9" tall. They were last seen heading north on Midway Avenue, turning eastbound on Venice Boulevard. Anyone who might have information about this incident is urged, to contact either the Public Information Officer, Jennifer Atenza, or the Watch Commander by phone or email as listed in the press release. The suspects at the time of the robbery were wearing ski masks, with one clad in a white and purple jacket, and the other in a red jacket, accompanied by black pants.
