In a string of disciplinary hearings that unfolded yesterday, the Dallas Police Department officially cut ties with three officers. Interim Police Chief Igo presided over the proceedings which resulted in the termination of Sergeant Ruben Lozano, Senior Corporal James Goetz, and Police Officer Kristin Henry for various misconducts.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Lozano, previously with the Central Patrol Division, was found to have engaged in sexual conduct while on duty and was untruthful during an internal investigation. His termination also follows an arrest by the Irving Police Department for charges including Assault Bodily Injury - Family Violence and Unlawful Restraint.
Goetz of the Special Victims Division saw his end of service with the Dallas Police after an arrest for Driving While Intoxicated by the Pilot Point Police Department. The department viewed this conduct as incompatible with a Dallas officer's standing values and responsibilities.
Lastly, Officer Henry from the Northeast Patrol Division was terminated after being found to be in violation of the Off-Duty Employment Policy. Her offenses extended to incorrectly using the department's body-worn camera Policy and receiving wage supplementation while on a light duty status and working off-duty jobs, a practice inconsistent with departmental regulations.
