David McCarthy began his career with the Department of Adult Correction in 2005 as a Correctional Behavioral Specialist and has since held various roles, including leading the Apprehend, Capture, and Enforce team in Pitt County since 2021. He has been involved in the Pitt County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team and received the NCDPS Badge of Excellence for Public Service in 2022. A graduate of Western Carolina University, McCarthy’s experience is focused on rehabilitation and community safety.
