Early on Sunday morning, two people lost their lives in a head-on collision on U.S. Route 183 in southeast Austin, officials reported. According to information provided by KVUE, the crash happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the 9800 block of U.S 183, claiming the lives of both individuals involved.
Austin-Travis County EMS arrived at the scene to discover two vehicles had been involved in the collision, dead on their arrival were the two adults after resuscitation attempts remained unsuccessful. This grim account was detailed by Yahoo News, noting the early morning efforts of medics to save the individuals.
As a result of the accident, the Texas Department of Transportation closed all lanes of U.S. 183 in both directions near FM 973, creating significant disruption to the area's traffic flow, as per Yahoo News.
