
During a routine traffic stop conducted by the Boston Police Department's Youth Violence Strike Force and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, a 25-year-old man from Dedham was arrested on firearm-related charges. The incident took place yesterday night at approximately 10:25 PM along Blue Hill Avenue in the neighborhood of Dorchester.
Officers on patrol observed a vehicle with a revoked insurance policy near the intersection of Harvard St. and Blue Hill Ave. Upon initiating the stop, officers noted four individuals within the automobile, with Jaydell Pouriet identified as the driver. An ensuing investigation leads to the discovery of a concealed firearm within the car's center console. According to the information provided by the Boston Police Department, detectives were able to seize the weapon, identified as a Kel-Tec P3AT handgun loaded with five .380 caliber rounds.
The firearm's recovery resulted in Pouriet's arrest and he now faces multiple charges, including operating an unregistered motor vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm without a license, among others. The Boston Police Department report indicates that Pouriet is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on these charges.
