Last week, three members from Denton County Emergency Services District #1 took a step up in their service to the community, graduating from the National Honor Guard Academy (NHGA). The NHGA, known for its specialized training programs for firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel, focuses on teaching attendees how to support families during the profoundly difficult time of losing a loved one in the line of duty.

According to a social media post by the Denton County Emergency Services District #1, this recent graduation saw the largest class to date, with 76 graduates representing 33 agencies across five states and that cohort included Hawaii, this might seem unremarkable, but it is indeed a testament to the academy's growing influence in the sphere of emergency services.

The proud graduates, named by the district as Driver/Engineer Crudgington, Firefighter/Paramedic Chonody, and Firefighter/Paramedic Arrington, are praised for their dedication and for upholding the values of Honor, Dignity, and Respect. Chief Robledo of the Denton PD encapsulated the sentiment of the profession with the words, "We are our brothers and sisters keepers," as per the Denton County Emergency Services District #1.
