In a grateful acknowledgment of swift action, the DeSoto Police Department has been lauded for their recent community-focused rescue. Early one morning, first responders were alerted to a small child wandering the streets alone. The three-year-old girl, named Kailea, had left her home in search of her father, donning nothing but her Minnie Mouse pajamas.
According to a social media post by the DeSoto Police Department, officers began an extensive search after a neighbor who encountered Kailea called them. Describing in vivid detail, they stated, "DeSoto police went door to door for an hour looking for her house." The family, roused by the urgency of officers at their doorstep, were initially unaware of their daughter's absence.
The relieved family expressed their deepest gratitude towards the officers and the neighbor, emphasizing the tireless effort of the first responders. "We are soooo thankful that they were persistent and were not gonna stop til they found us," the DeSoto Police Department shared. On finding Kailea, the officers made sure to check her vitals and even engaged in a heartwarming moment of play, adorned with sticker remnants by the young child.
