As the Nov. 5 General Election draws near, Douglas County voters looking for support can now access additional Voter Services and Polling Centers (VSPCs). Starting today, nine more VSPC locations have opened their doors, supplementing the four centers already in operation. On the eve of the election, Nov. 4, another eight will join the effort, aiming to ensure all who wish to participate in the democratic process can do so without hindrance.
The VSPCs are integral for voters who seek to cast their ballots in person, require ADA-accessible voting machines, or need to replace a ballot. These centers also extend a crucial service for individuals who need to register to vote or update their registration details. According to Douglas County, with Colorado election law permitting voter registration up to and on Election Day itself, it is not too late for residents to ensure they can participate.
Voters will find staff ready to assist them at a total of 13 VSPC locations across various points in Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Highlands Ranch, Larkspur, Littleton, Louviers, and Parker. All are set to be in operation through 7 p.m. on Election Day, with varying hours in the run-up to the election. For instance, these centers are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and will also provide assistance during the same hours on Saturday, Nov. 2. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, they will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those who prefer or require to return their ballots without assistance can use one of the 21 conveniently located ballot drop box locations across the county. These secure boxes are accessible 24/7 and will accept ballots until the final deadline of 7 p.m. on Election Day. "No matter how you deliver your ballot, by mail, ballot drop box, or VSPC, it must be received by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024," as per Douglas County, emphasizing that a postmark on Election Day is insufficient for counting.
