Last Sunday, a 54-year-old man driving a U-Haul van crashed into a pillar supporting the elevated F line in Brooklyn, resulting in his death and leaving his passenger in a critical condition. According to NY Daily News, the driver, Anthony Jorg, was navigating southbound on McDonald Ave. in Borough Park when he veered off the road near Bay Parkway around 8 p.m.
The cause of the accident remains unclear, though police are actively investigating, as per the Audacy. The 50-year-old female passenger, who suffered severe injuries, was taken to Maimonides Medical Center and remains in critical but stable condition, as stated by the police. Jorg, who was roughly two miles from his home during the collision, succumbed to his injuries at the same hospital.
