The accident reportedly involved the vehicle rolling multiple times, leading to the driver being partially ejected and subsequently trapped with the SUV on top of them. According to the St Louis County Rescue Squad Facebook post, they managed to effectively lift the vehicle off the driver in less than ten minutes—a feat that certainly speaks to their rigorous training and the seamless integration of specialized tools like struts, airbags, and hydraulic equipment. The post read, "Every minute of training we do on the back pad at Pike Lake constructing puzzling, eyebrow-hurting extrication scenarios came to fruition last night."
The driver miraculously sustained non-life-threatening injuries, a remarkable outcome given the severity of the accident. The St Louis County Rescue Squad's commendation was extensive, including nods to Industrial Fire-Rescue, Cloquet Ambulance, Sheriff's Deputies, MSP Troopers, 911 Dispatchers, and NASCAR Towing—all of which came together to ensure the extrication was a success.
