Duluth, Minnesota is inviting residents to become part of its winter landscape maintenance team, an initiative aimed at making the city's trails more accessible during the snow-laden months. The City of Duluth, MN Government announced on social media an opportunity for citizens to adopt a section of trail and become snow heroes—or as they call them, "Snowstompers." Volunteers who join the team are tasked with keeping sections of trail within city limits packed down after snowstorms, allowing those without snowshoes to traverse the paths.
Sections open for adoption include the Lincoln Park Trail, Kingsbury Creek Loop, Twin Ponds to Antenna Farm, Chester Rim Trail, and Morningside Trail up to Jean Duluth Rd. Interested participants can learn more about this community engagement program and sign up for their own snowy section to maintain through the winter months by visiting the provided link, as detailed by the City of Duluth.
