The city of Dunwoody is bringing holiday cheer with the return of its annual Holiday Lights event at Brook Run Park starting December 1. Dunwoody's Mayor Lynn Deutsch is set to kick off the celebrations alongside the City Council by lighting up the park at 6 p.m. on opening night, according to a recent announcement from Dunwoody Parks and Recreation.
Brook Run Park will be transformed into an Arctic Safari wonderland, featuring a stunning display of 100,000 lights. The festive attraction will include safari-themed vehicles, a train, and even an igloo, creating a spectacular sight that draws thousands of visitors each year, said Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch, "The holiday light display brings so much joy to our community." The display will remain lit for visitors nightly until the end of the year.
Free hot cocoa and donuts will be available from DonutNV Atlanta starting at 4 p.m. on December 1, offering families a sweet treat as they mingle with various costumed characters for photo opportunities. For those interested in more than just snacks, Top Job Beverages and Cub Scout Pack 575 will have concessions on sale to support their "Helpers and Heroes" fundraiser, as per the official announcement.
Dunwoody Parks & Recreation will also host two letter-writing campaigns. "Letters to Seniors" invites residents to write notes of holiday cheer for those in assisted living homes, while "Letters to Santa" allows children to email their Christmas wishes directly to Santa, who will respond with a personal, heartfelt reply—no gifts, just special messages.
