
An early morning altercation led to a deadly exchange of gunfire at a Houston apartment complex, leaving one man dead and another injured. The incident occurred at approximately 5:55 a.m. at 4002 Corder Street. According to City of Houston, the confrontation took place inside an apartment, resulting in both men shooting.
Houston Police Department's HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detective K. Collier reported that the officers swiftly responded to the shooting call. The Houston Fire Department paramedics transported both men to the hospital, where one was pronounced deceased. His identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other man, a 33-year-old shooter, suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances surrounding this fatal incident are still under active investigation, as detectives work to determine the sequence of events. The shooter's hospitalization adds complexity to the investigation, with interviews expected to take place once health conditions allow. The identity and age of the deceased will be released following formal verification.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is also involved in the case and has decided to present it to a grand jury.
