
In the predawn hours of Monday, an investigation began in the Paramount area after a man was tragically discovered shot to death near the 710 Freeway, as reported by ABC7. The incident occurred specifically on Somerset Boulevard over the freeway, with law enforcement responding to the scene shortly after the initial report at 4 a.m.
Authorities searched for the suspect, and Sky5 captured aerial footage of the scene shortly before 7 a.m., showing a person being handcuffed and detained. It remains unclear if the detained individual is a suspect in the shooting or is connected to the investigation in another capacity, as per KTLA.
According to a press release by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the victim has been described as a male Hispanic adult though they did not provide his identity. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators were summoned to the site where paramedics from the Compton Fire Department confirmed the victim dead at the scene.
