
An elderly man has passed away after being rescued from a house fire on West 12th Avenue in Homestead, officials reported yesterday. According to WPXI, the incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m., when police, fire, and EMS were dispatched following reports of a blaze. The man was rescued from the burning home and transported to a hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries by 5 p.m.
The Allegheny County fire marshal is currently investigating to determine the cause of the fire. The police have not released detailed information about the victim, aside from noting his elderly status. Separately, WTAE provided details that the fire had fully engulfed the home when officials arrived on the scene, and firefighters discovered the victim on the second floor of the property.
