The Eustis community was disrupted last night when three individuals fell victim to gunfire on Kensington Street. WESH reported that officers responded to reports of a shooting around 10 p.m., where they found the injured parties. The Eustis Police Department, headed by Chief Craig Capri, detailed that one victim sustained minor injuries from fragmentation, another was shot in the upper right leg, and a third suffered multiple gunshot wounds and needed surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center. All victims are expected to pull through.
Amidst the aftermath, detectives have pinpointed 46-year-old Gary Davis as the suspect, a man with a history of violent disputes in the area. Inside Lake reported that a jury previously acquitted Davis for a shooting incident at the same address in 2023. He now faces severe legal repercussions, with authorities issuing a warrant for his arrest on charges including attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Names of those injured in the gruesome event have been released; according to Inside Lake, 41-year-old Delmetrius Brown underwent surgery after being struck multiple times. Rashida Henderson, aged 47, suffered a wound to her leg and was taken to AdventHealth Waterman for treatment, whereas 26-year-old Nyjah Lowe's injuries were deemed minor.
As the search for Davis continues, authorities urge the public’s assistance. Chief Capri expressed that the suspect is not yet in custody and that the department has solicited any information regarding Davis's location.
