According to a statement released by the Victorville Police Department, the Audi was traveling southbound on Mariposa Road when it struck the curb, and launched onto the freeway, directly into the path of the Nissan. The impact was catastrophic, the driver of the Audi sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the Nissan, a driver and a passenger, suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
