Last night, a fire in Whitehall's Colonial East Apartments injured five individuals, according to the Whitehall Division of Fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at the complex off East Broad Street just before midnight. Among the responders, Whitehall Battalion Chief Ray Cunningham witnessed a person jumping from a window to escape the flames, The Columbus Dispatch detailed. This incident was part of a chaotic night in which a total of five people sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals. One victim has been described as being in critical condition.
The fire began in a second-floor hallway and was extinguished relatively quickly, containing most of the damage to the area of origin.
