Lachina Cropes, 40, was arrested after allegedly pepper-spraying her children's foster parents and taking the kids without permission in Manatee County, Florida. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said the Georgia State Patrol helped catch Cropes in Georgia, where she fled with her two sons, ages 10 and 8, according to WFLA.
The incident occurred at a residence on Rye Wilderness Trail in Bradenton shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities stated Cropes does not have custodial rights to the children, Isaiah and David Israel. as noted by FOX 13 News.
The Georgia State Patrol found the children yesterday, and Cropes was arrested. The 10-year-old and 8-year-old were unharmed, according to deputies, as reported by the Bradenton Herald. Cropes faces charges of interference with child custody and two counts of battery.
