
Tragedy struck Folsom early Friday morning when a woman died following a house fire. As reported by ABC 10, the fire occurred on Briarcliff Drive, where firefighters were dispatched at approximately 2:08 a.m. The swift response from the Folsom Fire Department allowed crews to contain and extinguish the fire promptly, preventing it from spreading beyond the house.
Despite the efforts to get quickly control the situation, a woman was discovered inside the home. She was immediately transported to the hospital, but, regrettably, she succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced dead. The investigation according to ABC 10, is still ongoing, and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
On the scene of the residential fire, not only a life was lost but also a member of the firefighting crew sustained an injury. KCRA reports that one firefighter injured their knee during the response. The injured firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment as a precautionary step.
