Authorities are piecing together a string of events that saw Paul Bissonnette, a former Arizona Coyotes player and current NHL analyst, embroiled in altercations two weekends in a row. After an incident at a Scottsdale steakhouse, a new video has emerged online from an alleged fracas involving Bissonnette at a golf course in Phoenix. According to Arizona's Family, the video shows a man assaulting several individuals at the Raven Country Club, with Bissonnette retweeting the video claiming it features the same group that attacked him.
Scottsdale police have arrested six men in connection with the restaurant assault, which transpired last weekend and ended allegedly with Bissonnette hospitalized. Bissonnette shared his account, saying, on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast, "I get up and I go over, and I walk over, I grab the guy’s arm. I said, ‘Listen, buddy, if you keep harassing and assaulting the staff here, we’re gonna go outside and we’re gonna have some problems,’” and that's when "the guy beside him starts throwing punches," as stated by Arizona's Family.
In a separate statement obtained by NBC New York, Bissonnette described the steakhouse incident, stating, “It's a family restaurant and there wasn't anyone there who could maybe go help him out, so I went over, grabbed the guy and said: ‘sir, if you’re going to assault and harass the staff, we're going to have problems.'” The violent encounter reportedly spilled from the restaurant to a parking lot and a nearby store.
