
Early Tuesday morning, a Fort Lauderdale home was ravaged by flames, leaving four adults without shelter, as confirmed by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. According to information from Local 10 News, firefighters were called to a residence located near the 1500 block of Northwest 11th Street following an emergency call at around 5:10 a.m., where they discovered smoke billowing from the rear of the dwelling.
The blaze, which reportedly originated in a bedroom, was swiftly tackled by fire crews who extinguished it within a mere 15 minutes, remarkably a python also a resident of the abode was rescued. Amidst the upheaval, officials highlighted that no injuries were reported and the American Red Cross has stepped in to assist the displaced individuals, as stated by FLFR spokesman Frank Guzman.
Meanwhile, NBC Miami reported that this incident was part of a string of fires in Broward County that day, with another fire in Davie resulting in a fatality and a third in Brownsville sending two people to the hospital with two pets perishing in the flames.
The investigation into the Fort Lauderdale house fire is ongoing, with authorities still working to determine the cause, believed to be in a bedroom. A rescued pet python adds complexity to the situation.
