As Thanksgiving approaches, residents of Frisco can plan their holiday around the adjusted schedules of city facilities, with closures affecting several services and amenities during the festive period. Municipal offices including City Hall and the Municipal Court will pause from November 28 through November 29, as announced on the City of Frisco's official website. The Frisco Athletic Center will operate on reduced hours on Wednesday, November 27, closing early at 5 p.m., and remain closed on Thanksgiving Day. Services resume with limited hours the following day, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For literature enthusiasts, the Frisco Public Library along with the Connection at Stonebriar Centre, anticipates a full closure from November 28 to December 1. However, the drive-thru book return feature behind the main library will stay accessible. The Frisco Fire Safety Town and the connected central fire administrative offices are also set to close over the Thanksgiving break, reopening on December 2.
Meanwhile, The Frisco Heritage Center and The Grove at Frisco Commons are following suit with the other facilities, shutting their doors for a two-day hiatus, promising to return to normal activity on December 2 and December 3, respectively. The Frisco Discovery Center adjusts its hours slightly differently, closed on Thanksgiving Day but opening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 29.
One crucial service that will not take a holiday is waste management. While city-wide trash collection and curbside recycling will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, the schedule will adjust to ensure residents do not experience a significant disruption. "If your regular service day is Thursday, services will be provided on Friday," the City of Frisco's advisory detailed. The environmental collection center along with Environmental Services offices, however, will go on a break from November 28 to December 1, with a reminder that any unattended drop-off during this period would be deemed illegal dumping.
