As we head into the holiday spirit, it's time to lace up those running shoes for the North Texas Turkey Trot, which means Frisco residents get ready for some street closures. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving morning, from 6 to 10 a.m., a chunk of Frisco's streets will be off-limits to vehicles because of the festive foot race. An advisory from the City of Frisco detailed that today, starting at 5 p.m., the area of Simpson Plaza in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed off. However, the city hall remains accessible from other directions, and parking will be diverted behind the building, according to the official announcement.

On race day, several streets in the city will be closed. Main St. will be shut down between Dallas Pkwy. and John W. Elliot Dr., Frisco St. will be closed between Main St. and Eldorado Pkwy., and World Cup Way will be fully closed. Several streets in Frisco Square will also be closed. Detours will be in place, including Dallas Pkwy., Eldorado Pkwy., North County Rd., John W. Elliot Dr., and Page St. Be sure to follow the detour signs for a smoother drive.

Race-goers can park in the west parking lots of Toyota Stadium or the city parking garage behind City Hall, accessed from the northbound Dallas Pkwy—frontage road. Turn right at the first driveway past Main St. or onto Technology Dr. ADA parking spots are available on each garage level, near the elevators. Frisco Square residents living on Coleman Blvd. or Frisco Square Blvd. should check with their management offices about access to their homes during the race.

The Municipal Center, Municipal Court, Heritage Center, and Frisco Public Library will be closed for Thanksgiving, including Thursday, so plan if you need these services. For moviegoers, Cinemark customers should take northbound Dallas Pkwy and turn right onto Page St. to get there. During the race, spectators are asked to stay on the sidewalks in Frisco Square as the race will use the roads.
