A 31-year-old German national's life was cut short tragically last night in a vehicle incident at a bustling tourist thoroughfare in Orange County. According to a report by ClickOrlando, the woman was standing at the intersection on Universal Boulevard near Breakview Drive north of State Road 528 when a southbound SUV veered off the road and fatally struck her at approximately 6:35 p.m.
According to WFTV, the vehicle, identified as a 2025 Mazda CX-50, initially hit a tree before continuing its fatal trajectory. After hitting the pedestrian, whose visit to Orlando ended prematurely, the vehicle proceeded to collide with multiple traffic signal support posts before coming to rest.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has confirmed that the man behind the wheel, a 37-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, sustained severe injuries and was also taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). Both the driver and victim were rapidly transported to ORMC. However, despite receiving immediate medical attention, the woman was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing to understand what led to the accident. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, survived, while the pedestrian, likely just waiting, tragically lost her life. FHP is still looking into the cause of the crash.
