An incident rocked Glendale on November 7th, when a man who had just cashed a settlement check experienced a swift and shocking theft. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, while the man was reviewing a truck he considered purchasing, his car, left unlocked and laden with nearly $50,000, was burglarized. Surveillance footage captured two suspects in the act of taking the money.

During a conversation with the police, the victim recounted the ordeal, admitting his oversight to an officer. "When we got off to get the truck, we had the money in the car, and me, like an idiot, didn't lock the car," he told the police. The loss was noticed when the seller of the truck alerted him that someone had tampered with his vehicle. In response, the victim and his son initiated a pursuit of the alleged thieves, a chase that was documented by Glendale Police real-time crime center traffic cameras.

The pursuit culminated when the suspects ran a red light at 67th Avenue and Olive Avenue, resulting in a collision with another vehicle. According to the victim's account in an interview with the police that was later shared by Headtopics, he had lost sight of the suspects briefly before deciding to wait for law enforcement: "I was running after him and I lost him from the front of this complex to over here and then I seen him and I said 'I'll wait for the cops,'"

The aftermath of the chase was chaotic, with money strewn about and the suspects apprehended. "There's money all over the street, making a right-hand turn seeing the fighting, came up to a car accident and then fighting, and I was like, ‘You guys need to separate,’ and the guy is like, ‘He stole $50,000 from me,’" a witness described the scene to FOX 10 Phoenix. Glendale Police arrested Raymond Pouncy and Reginold Chatman in connection with the incident. In their car, officers located $47,205 in cash, ostensibly part of the stolen amount.
