A 63-year-old Glendale man, identified as David A Schupmann, found himself on the wrong side of the law early this morning, after an incident that marked his ninth arrest for driving under the influence. FOX6 Now reported that the arrest occurred shortly after midnight when a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper responded to a crash on I-94 near Highway 89 in Jefferson County.
According to the trooper, Schupmann's vehicle swerved off the interstate, crashed into a farm field, and hit a hay bale. The driver showed clear signs of impairment, leading to an investigation for operating while intoxicated. WXOW detailed that after an evidentiary blood draw at a local hospital, Schupmann was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on charges consisting of operating while intoxicated-ninth offense, operating after revocation, and charges related to failure to install an ignition interlock device and keeping his vehicle under control.
Schupmann awaits his day in court. Assistance at the scene was provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
