The Grand Rapids Police Department continues to seek community assistance in the unsolved homicide of 29-year-old Malik Moore, who was discovered deceased on September 18 in a parked car on Fremont Avenue. As reported by WWMT, the GRPD was called to the scene near 12th Street after a passerby noticed a person with blood on them seated in the driver's seat.
Despite the passage of time, detectives have yet to piece together the critical details surrounding Moore's death—now declared a homicide. According to FOX 17, they suspect he was likely killed hours before being found in the early morning hours. Authorities are now to actively reach out to potential witnesses who might not have realized the importance of what they saw or heard about this crime.
Frustratingly, little has been made public regarding the investigation's progress since the body's discovery. Detective Damon Lange stated, "It’s possible someone saw or heard something and didn’t realize it could be important to the actual time frame of the murder, which was several hours prior," as reported by WZZM 13. The police hope outreach efforts will encourage these potential witnesses to step forward and provide information that may prove pivotal in solving the case.
