Demond Alexander was reported missing after he didn’t return from a trip to the lobby of the Country Inn & Suites on Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Gwinnett County. The visit to the lobby, his mother reported, was for him to get coffee around 11 p.m. on Thursday. WSB-TV detailed that when he left he was without shoes or a jacket, despite the late hour, and his medical condition that necessitates constant care.
Police had previously described the missing teen as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 157 to 160 pounds. Concern grew due to Alexander's medical condition, which went unmanaged in his absence. An image of Alexander in the light-colored shirt he was last seen wearing was circulated in efforts to assist his safe return.
While details on where and how Alexander was found have not been disclosed, law enforcement's commitment to his case was clear. "Night-shift officers who volunteered to stay late to continue searching for him," were credited with the positive outcome of the situation, giving the family's tense wait a comforting resolution, according to WSB-TV. The officers' perseverance, it seems, was instrumental in this reunion scenario.
