A sad reminder of urban vulnerability unfolded in Haltom City last week when a 67-year-old Asian man was struck in a pedestrian-vehicle accident. According to a social media post by the Haltom City Police Department, the incident occurred last Friday around 12:46 pm on the 4100 block of NE 28th Street.
The white passenger car struck the pedestrian while heading westbound in the right lane. Having fulfilled the obligation to stop and render aid, the driver remained at the scene. Although serious, the injuries sustained by the victim are being attended at a local hospital, with the potential for them to be life-threatening. Despite the weighty incidence, several witnesses said no criminal offenses were linked to the collision.
The Haltom City Police traffic officers led the investigation, with the Criminal Investigations Division contributing support. No further details about the victim's condition or the subsequent legal proceedings, if any, have emerged.
