Hillsborough County is asking locals for their input on the future of Bethune Park in Wimauma through a new online survey. This is part of the second phase of a master planning process to redesign the park based on community feedback. Earlier this year, the county held meetings to gather initial ideas, which have helped shape two new design concepts for the park's renovation.
County officials have released two design concepts for Bethune Park—Concept A and Concept B—each offering a different vision for the park's makeover. The plans include features like play areas and walking trails, and the county wants your feedback. Residents can share their thoughts on the designs until November 22.
You can find full details about the Bethune Park Master Plan and take the survey on the Hillsborough County Education and Engagement Hub. The site is available in both English and Spanish and includes images of the proposed designs, along with information from earlier studies and community feedback.
According to Hillsborough County's announcement, "A virtual engagement was conducted in the spring and summer of 2024," indicating the prolonged and inclusive efforts to ensure the park's redesign resonates with the residents who will make the most of it. These ongoing surveys are a testament to Hillsborough's commitment to inclusive community planning, giving everyone a voice in shaping their shared spaces.
