Hawai‘i Police are seeking a suspect following a burglary in Hilo and are turning to the public for help. Early in the morning on Thursday, October 10, 2024, a business on the 400 block of Manono Street was broken into, as confirmed by detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigation Section. The call came in around 2:40 a.m. after an activated alarm prompted South Hilo patrol officers to respond to the scene.
Upon arrival, it appears that the officers found a business violated by a burglary perpetrated by a single male, who after unlawfully entering, made off with various items. The entire act was caught on the company's surveillance, adding visual evidence to the ongoing investigation. According to the Hawai‘i Police Department, the suspect is still at large.
