Authorities in Thurston County are immersed in a homicide investigation following the death of a man in a residence near Yelm. It was an early Sunday morning when deputies responded to the scene near Lake Lawrence at approximately 8 a.m., as reported by KING5. The discovery of the victim, who appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds, led to a prompt investigation inside the house.
Details regarding the incident were sparse initially. FOX13 Seattle noted that information was limited to the presence of another person inside the home, with little known about the series of events leading to the guest's demise. Upon arrival, authorities unearthed the grim situation, finding the man deceased on the floor.
Police work led detectives to believe that the homeowner was implicated in the crime. A statement from Thurston County Sheriff's Office, cited by KOMO News, mentioned "probable found" -- likely a typographical error -- that provided enough evidence to arrest the homeowner for second-degree murder. The suspect was promptly booked into the Thurston County Jail following the arrest.
The name of the victim has not been made public as of yet, and the Sheriff’s Office is calling on anyone with any details related to the case to step forward.
