The Homestead community is on high alert after a mother reported that a man allegedly tried to abduct her daughter outside Marshalls at Homestead Towne Square on Halloween night. Jennifer Arroyo described the suspect as a thin man in his mid to late 60s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with medium-length white hair and a white buzz beard. She emphasized the urgency, saying, "He tried this once; he will try it again," in a statement obtained by Local 10.
Homestead Police are asking the public for help in quickly catching the suspect from the alleged abduction attempt. They are sharing a description of the suspect that matches Arroyo's details. According to a statement obtained by WSVN, the incident occurred when a victim was putting bags into her car and the suspect approached, pretending to need help with his wife "in the truck" in a nearby Publix parking lot. When the victim became suspicious and tried to leave, the man grabbed her, leading to a struggle from which she eventually escaped and fled.
The police have detailed the suspect's appearance, noting he was wearing a blue long-sleeve button-up shirt and black pants during the incident. They have provided contact information for anyone who may have information about the suspect. Officials encourage anyone with knowledge to call Homestead Police's anonymous tip line or the non-emergency line.
