A Houston father was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the abdomen following an altercation involving teenagers on Gulfton Street near Westward Street. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m., when a verbal dispute escalated, Houston police say, according to KHOU.
Reports from the scene indicate the victim's son and a friend were on their porch when two teenagers, with whom they had previous school-related disputes, approached them, sparking the confrontation that led to the father's involvement and subsequent shooting; following the incident, the suspects fled on foot.
Police have not yet apprehended the suspects responsible for the shooting, as confirmed by CW39. The father, whose identity has not been released, was taken to the hospital in stable condition; further details regarding his wellbeing are yet to be disclosed.
