Earlier yesterday, a man was killed in a high-speed crash on the Northwest Freeway in Houston. The accident, which occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. near the 9000 block of U.S. Highway 290, involved a green Kawasaki motorcycle and two other vehicles, according to local officials.
The motorcycle, alleged to have been traveling at high speeds, attempted to overtake a tan Chrysler 300 when it collided, causing the rider to lose control. After being ejected from the motorcycle, he was struck by a red Nissan Altima, the Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia, and Officer D. Fenoglio reported. The victim, a 46-year-old man, whose name has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences was pronounced dead on the scene.
Both drivers involved in the crash stayed at the location, cooperating with the authorities. After questioning, they were released as neither showed signs of intoxication nor sustained injuries due to the crash.
As the investigation continues, Houston Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division will provide further updates as it continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
