Houston authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation into a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man last night. The shooting occurred at an apartment complex located at 14911 Richmond Avenue around 6:20 p.m., as reported by City of Houston. The deceased, a 34-year-old man whose name has yet to be released, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Officers from the Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division, along with Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective G. Rangel, arrived in response to the shooting and discovered the victim unresponsive on a set of stairs. Witnesses at the scene described the suspect as an unknown black male, who was last seen escaping in a matte black, two-door Mercedes Benz.
In an effort to move the investigation forward, HPD has made a public appeal. "Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," detailed in the city's release.
The ongoing case has been registered under the incident number 159446324. The final identification of the victim is expected to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences shortly.
