A southwest Houston neighborhood was disrupted last night when a gunman fatally shot a 34-year-old man in a driveway on Southfield Drive near Wuthering Heights Drive. According to KHOU, the Houston Police Department is conducting an investigation and canvassing the Bentwood West community for any leads that could help identify the suspect or clarify the motive behind the shooting.
According to a Click2Houston report, the shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m., whereupon Houston police were dispatched to the scene finding the victim with multiple gunshot wounds he was pronounced dead right there in the driveway, in the aftermath of an untimely death, detectives are working to gather the available clues left.
Neighbors in the vicinity have been alerted to remain vigilant as the shooter remains at large and are urged to contribute any home surveillance footage they might have by contacting the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or to speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
The victim's name has not been released as authorities are in the process of notifying next of kin. Further updates will be provided as they become available to the public and press.
