A woman who was critically injured in a traffic collision in Houston's 2300 block of West Holcombe Boulevard on the evening of October 25 has succumbed to her injuries. The incident, which took place around 7 p.m., involved a green Jeep Cherokee and a black Tesla Model S. City of Houston officials confirmed her death this past Wednesday.
The 39-year-old female driver's identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer S. Le, the woman was driving south on Morningside Drive when she failed to yield at a the stop sign at the West Holcombe Boulevard intersection, leading to the fatal crash.
An ongoing investigation by HPD reveals that the Jeep was struck by the Tesla, subsequently pushing it into a maroon Lexus RX 350. Following the collision, the woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Wednesday after efforts to save her life, according to police. The other individuals involved in the incident did not report any significant injuries.
