The restriction, which previously applied to vehicles exceeding a 12-foot girth, has been tightened due to a bridge stretch between mile markers 39 and 40 in Erwin—a stretch with apparently no love for its wider-wheeled companions. These vehicles, it seems, run the risk of scarring the bridge's curbing and delineators, as per the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
