Michigan State Police reported an individual is now facing felony charges after opening fire at law enforcement in Millington Township. In an incident stemming from a domestic violence complaint, officials were dispatched to the 8000 block of Irish Road, where a suspect engaged in gunfire, leading officers to seek backup. WNEM detailed the confrontation, which saw the involvement of not only the Michigan State Police but also other agencies, including the MSP Emergency Support (ES) Team, K-9 Units, and its aviation section.
Responding initially to the distress call, officers from the Vassar Police Department found themselves in a perilous confrontation with the armed suspect as stated by MSP Lt. Kim Vetter, who, despite the tension-filled standoff, acknowledged there were no injuries reported.
