Dr. Leon Haley Jr., a key leader during the COVID-19 pandemic, tragically passed away at 56 in a personal watercraft accident in July 2021. The new facility will expand the region's capacity for trauma and emergency care, adding 35,000 square feet and upgrading the existing infrastructure, which was voiced in the hushed reverence of remembrance in the plans set forth by Haley himself.
