Los Angeles County has witnessed the start of a new chapter for the Fifth District with Supervisor Kathryn Barger taking the oath of office during a ceremony at The Athenaeum on the Caltech campus in Pasadena. Having secured her third term with over 56% of the primary votes last March, Barger's inaugural event this past Saturday resonated with commitment and foresight, a celebration attended by community leaders, team members, and over 200 supporters. As reported by the Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor, the presence of fellow Supervisors Holly J. Mitchell, Lindsey P. Horvath, Janice Hahn, the County Assessor, and the Sheriff underlined the ceremony's significance.
According to the Los Angeles County Supervisor's Office, the ceremony featured an invocation by Reverend Megan Katerjian and addresses from various figures including SEIU Local 721 President David Green and Commissioner Sarah Dusseault, with remarks indicating a strong community focus. Administering the oath, the Honorable Jackie Lacey set the stage for Barger to share her vision for the upcoming term. Attended by over 200 people, the venue was filled with an air of expectation and dedication to public service.
As per the Los Angeles County Supervisor's Office, Barger emphasized a pragmatic and collaborative approach to governance, stating, "I will face our County’s challenges head-on." Barger added, "I will continue to use an approach that contains ingredients I believe are essential for success."
