Arlington, Texas is set to once again become the epicenter of a unique fusion of sports and music as Kid Rock's Rock N Rodeo gears up for a second year. Following a successful launch that shook up the rodeo world, the eclectic event is returning to AT&T Stadium on May 16, 2025, with a three-day weekend chock full of high-stakes Western sports, topped off by a live performance from the rock n' roll artist himself.
Award-winning artist Kid Rock, partnered with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR), aims to persistently blend rodeo with rock music in a manner meant to captivate audiences by pushing the limits of traditional rodeo entertainment. “Last May we mashed up rodeo and rock and roll to celebrate cowboys and America in a party no one will ever forget,” Kid Rock said. “It’s time for year two, and we’ve got even bigger ideas to continue pushing rodeo into the entertainment mainstream. Nothing’s cooler than rodeo and rock-n-roll,” he told the City of Arlington.
The event leads into the 2025 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast – Championship, which kicks off the following day, adding to the allure for fans of Western sports. Sean Gleason, CEO and Commissioner of the PBR, highlighted the transformative nature of last year's event and teased future enhancements. "In 2024, the PBR alongside entertainment icon Kid Rock reimagined and changed rodeo forever," Gleason said. "We are making some exciting tweaks to this transformative concept and can’t wait to welcome even more fans to AT&T Stadium in 2025,” as per the City of Arlington.
Matched with the invigorating atmosphere of balladeer Kid Rock's performance, the rodeo spectacle will feature six teams, each led by a storied rodeo coach, to compete across various disciplines such as barrel racing and tie-down roping. An interesting element in the team selection process is the inclusion of the draft, which allows teams to select one new member per discipline, while five teams will also retain one member from 2024's event. Furthermore, the sixth team will be sourced from athletes who qualify via the World Champions Rodeo Alliance Major in May 2025.
